Exceptional cranage

It was on the Issy Cœur de Ville worksite in Issy les Moulineaux (Hauts-de-Seine) that an 80-tonne drilling rig at a depth of 17 metres was craned into its final position by a 500-tonne crane.

The environment, site and phasing of this worksite prevented the setup of a ramp to move the drilling rig down to the bottom of the excavation site, so the teams opted for this highly exceptional solution.

This is in fact a rare operation with such a load and extremely technical as the components and terrain must be managed to prevent the drilling rig from swinging even slightly. If this were the case, disaster would be sure to strike.

Even though drilling rigs are equipped for such manoeuvres, only experienced lifting professionals can handle them. This is why Franki Fondation and Sefi-Intrafor sought assistance from Freitas Levage.

Freitas Levage is one of the rare businesses in a position to put in place a slinging system capable of distributing and balancing the load using the specific hoisting beams and slings necessary for such large-scale cranage in complete safety.
