Once again, it’s a large-scale structure taking shape, with remarkable geometric characteristics: 40m-deep, 1.50m-thick diaphragm walls. On their own, these dimensions generate impressive quantities: 7,800m3 of excavated material and concrete, and 750 tonnes of steel.
The structure’s 20 panels, set up over 3 months, encountered a few issues due to the occasional lack of screening of the very close mainline railway tracks. The provisional shutdown of our workshop for a few days affected the regularity of our production.
Thanks to a team led by the works engineer, the main works supervisor and the worksite managers, driven on by unfaltering motivation, we were able to make up for this disruption by optimising the teams with a back-up night shift. This technical feat, the fruit of reputed expertise, is a further reference to add to the challenges successfully taken up by all Business’s teams.
Works are continuing on this structure with the team now tasked with creating the grouted curtain.
